Who we are
Straw Hut Media is a podcast agency and network based in Hollywood, California. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email hello@strawhutmedia.com.
What we collect
- Information you give us. If you submit the contact form, book a call, or subscribe to the newsletter, we receive what you type — typically your name, email address, and your message.
- Usage information. With your consent, analytics and advertising tools record pages viewed, episodes played, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
- Essential technical data. Server logs and a session cookie for the admin area. These are required for the site to work and are not used to track or profile you.
Cookies and how consent works
We set only strictly necessary cookies until you choose to accept more. Analytics and advertising tags start in a denied state via Google Consent Mode, and the Meta and TikTok pixels are not loaded at all unless you accept. Choosing “Essential only” means no analytics or advertising cookies are written.
- Essential — session and security cookies. Always on.
- Analytics — Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager, to understand which shows and pages people actually use.
- Advertising — Google Ads, Meta, and TikTok, so we can show Straw Hut Media ads to people who have visited us and measure whether they work.
You can change your mind at any time: reopen cookie settings. You can also clear cookies in your browser.
Why we are allowed to use it
For analytics and advertising cookies we rely on your consent. For replying to an enquiry or delivering a service you asked for, we rely on performing a contract or our legitimate interest in running the business. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with providers that help us operate: our hosting provider (Railway), email delivery (Resend), and — where you have consented — Google, Meta, and TikTok for analytics and advertising. Podcast audio streams from the show’s host (for example Megaphone), which may log the request.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and subscriptions are kept until you ask us to delete them or they are no longer needed. Analytics data is retained according to the provider’s settings, typically no more than 14 months.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including the UK and EEA under UK/EU GDPR, and California under the CCPA/CPRA — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of targeted advertising or any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email hello@strawhutmedia.com and we will respond within the time the law allows. UK/EEA residents may also complain to their local data protection authority.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
